In 2020, in response to the arrival of the coronavirus and the declaration of the pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO), UAG quickly adopted hybrid and digital models to ensure the continuity of education. Four hundred laptops were provided to faculty, and classrooms were equipped with video technology, adapting to the new teaching conditions.

Innovation and Recognitions

  • 2021: Inauguration of the Lighting Technology Center, the only one of its kind in Latin America.
  • 2021: Partnership with Arizona State University, marking a milestone in international academic collaboration.
  • 2022: Certification as a Top Employer, making it the only university in Mexico with this distinction.
  • 2023: Establishment of the Innovation Advisory Council and award of the Pro Integrity distinction.
  • 2023: Opening of the Biomedical Device Development Laboratories, strengthening its leadership in applied research.

Advances in Research and New Initiatives

  • 2024: Development of research projects in collaboration with governments and companies, resulting in the creation of patents with social impact.
  • 2024: Launch of the Artificial Intelligence Engineering program, an innovative degree aimed at addressing future challenges.
  • 2024: Recognition from CISCO for UAG's contributions to digital education.
  • 2024: Exhibition on the Shroud of Turin, reaffirming the university’s commitment to cultural and academic dissemination.
