In 2011, UAG received the National Export Award, presented by the President of the Republic, and opened the first educational research laboratory of INTEL in Mexico, developing projects like the Classmate PC for primary school students. In 2012, its Faculty of Electronics became the first private university in Mexico to receive the Students for a Smarter Planet Faculty Award from IBM, supporting student projects with social impact.

In 2013, the Academic Vice Rector's Office implemented the 10 Academic Program, a Master Plan to guide and evaluate the university's efforts, consolidating its commitment to educational excellence.

In 2014, UAG celebrated its 80th anniversary with an official ceremony at the Cabañas Cultural Center, where the Governor of Jalisco, Jorge Aristóteles Sandoval, presented the university with a recognition. The keynote speaker was Lic. Miguel Ángel Domínguez, a UAG graduate and president of the Tequila Regulatory Council. That year, the university formalized 80 agreements with institutions from 21 countries, strengthening its global presence and international engagement.

In 2016, 6,234 new students joined the UAG system, with Medicine and bachelor's degree programs being the areas of highest growth, making it the best year of the decade. Progress was made in the accreditation of academic programs, several professors completed the Career Plan, and prominent speakers shared their knowledge with students. With an investment of 100 million pesos, the university strengthened the School of Medicine by building the Medical Simulation Center and remodeling other key areas.
